Think about that word, great. I had to stop myself and really
understand what great means. Webster's definition can be summed up to
anything unusual, considrable or comparable. The definition does not
give an absolute which makes greatness subjective. It is weird to
think about great as being a matter of perspective. Great for one
person might not be of any significance to another. Think about your
lunch today... Maybe you had sandwich, a burrito that you thought was
just average. Give that sandwhich to someone starving and that is the
greatest thing they can remember ever eating. Think about your job,
what if your boss says I am giving you $500,000 more per year. That's
sounds pretty awesome but to Bill Gates it's like, "bummer, I was
hoping to make $500 million more."
Here is the point, your greatness is all a matter of your perspective.
We should push our expectation of great to new hieghts and not just
assume because something is an increase it is great. If God is truly
at your center, then your level of greatness should be along side of
seas being parted, sick being healed and living life in abundance. I
am not saying don't be thankful, always be thankful, I am just saying
we limit ourselves by limiting our definition of greatness.
